AVAILABLE NOW!
JUN 10 - 2023

Based on Vancouver Island Taze Kozak releases new single out of Cumberland, BC, Canada. From a string of recent work, the newest single "Tangerines & Mangoes" lends itself to the sounds of Spaghetti Western, Folk, and old school country.

Digging up what you may think resides in the 60s or 70s underground archives of western-esque music, Taze Kozak captures yet again another slice of the unknown in this gritty, focused single. With forward vocals the lyrics recite to clearly display the message at hand, which is friends. Opening and finishing lines on the track follow as... "got good friends, and bad friends, fake friends, and fat friends, friends that mean a lot, and some of them that do not"... with middle song being used to tell of the care and comfort which is to be brought to these friends of all walks. Simple and stripped down musicianship carry throughout, with whistles and unique lead guitar which may transport listeners into Spaghetti Western-esque realms.

While writing and recording "Tangerines & Mangoes" Kozak invisioned full moon summer nights, with the heat still lingering from the day which has sunk behind. That would be used as a tool to invoke warmth into the overall intent of the song, and how it would be precived. "I (Taze Kozak) wanted this to translate well, so i tried adding lots of tonal color with a somewhat dull overtone to capture the vision" with minor chord work, cowboy strumming, and tasteful lyrics Taze Kozak built a strong structure for the single and filled out the rest in his usual DIY indie fashion.

"Tangerines & Mangoes" is on all major streaming platforms. Below find Spotify links, media/ single artwork link, and Taze Kozaks socials. Taze Kozak can be reached directly via email or socials such as Instagram.
